Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese seal set carved out of buffalo horn and consisting of the seal itself, seal holder and seal paste container. The first photo shows the image of printing surface flipped left to right, so the seal can be read. Excellent quality crisp carving of raised characters, old red seal paste in the grooves of the seal and in the paste container. Inlaid silver plaque on the seal indicates the position of the top of the imprint. Very nice even grained translucent horn, beautiful patina. Height assembled 1.9 inches, seal diameter 0.35 inches.
