A handsome antique Japanese bronze urn vase on an integral tripod stand, marked JAPAN on the base and dating to the Taisho or early Showa period, circa 1920s–1940s.
The piece is cast in solid bronze with a deep, rich dark brown patina developed over decades. The globular body rises to a cylindrical neck with a gently flared rim, flanked by two distinctive square geometric ear handles — a clean, almost Art Deco sensibility that sets this apart from the more ornate Victorian-era export pieces. The urn sits on a separate circular pedestal base supported by three gracefully swept legs with scrolled curl feet, giving it a strong, sculptural presence from every angle.
The interior shows authentic green verdigris patina consistent with genuine bronze and appropriate age. "JAPAN" is stamped on the underside of the base.
