A hitching ring was used as a place to tie up horses to a post
- This rustic hitching ring would add a great look to a barn, basement door, or a shed
- It also could be reused as a plant hanging hook or dog tie
- The ring was stretched and pulled by a horse so it isn’t perfectly round
- The eye on the spike shows a nice amout of wear as well
- It is nicely textured with rust
- There are some pliers marks from when someone took it out of a post
- It was hand forged by a blacksmith
- You can see the hammer marks and joints in the iron
- I use these on barn doors as a pull handle
- The ring is 2 5/8" in diameter
- The lag is 1/2” at it’s thickest spot
- The eye lag screw is 3 5/8" long
