1) ITEM DESCRIPTION
Condition : As shown in the pictures, it's good condition. No any major damages. There is a very minor hit spot on the back side of the lid (Please refer to the last picture to check it).
This is a vintage Japanese high-class lacquered wooden tea caddy, which was made by the 1st class artisan, Kosai Takeuchi (1944- ) about 30 years ago.
This tea caddy is made of Natural wood and coated with lacquer (Not plastic one).
A mouse and rice stalks are molded and hand painted on the back side of the lid by Maki-e technique.
The original wooden box with the signature of the artisan is also included.
This type of tea caddy is called "Natsume" in Japanese.
