Vintage Faux Blue Opal & Sapphire Silver Tone Metal 2" Long Brooch & 1" Long Earring Set - I found this set over 25 years ago at an estate sale and have enjoyed wearing them over the years. Based on another set I have that was my grandmother's, I believe this was made sometime during the 1950s. The back of the brooch has a solid piece of open metal under the pin section that could be used to make this into a pendant for a necklace. The metal is in very good condition and looks like it could be silver, however I did test it and it came back negative for silver. They did not come in the box, but they fit great in it and it does add a little protection for the set.
The brooch is approximately 2" long and 1" wide and the solid open metal section on the back is about .5". The faux opal is about 2" long and .5" wide. There are 6 faux round sapphires on the sides of the opal that really accent the opal.
The earring are approximately 1.25" long and .75" wide and the faux opal is about 1" long. There are four faux round sapphires around the opal.
