Vintage Golden Bee Chinese Silk Embroidered Fenghuang Phoenix Dragon Robe Jacket

This vintage Golden Bee Chinese silk embroidered Fenghuang phoenix dragon robe jacket dates from the 1950s. It is made of a white silk fabric, with multicolored raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered peony flowers, mythological Fenghuang Chinese phoenix bird and golden dragon both symbolic of blissful relations between husband and wife, a common yin and yang metaphor popular at weddings. This jacket style robe has an embroidered floral trimmed mandarin collar, long full sleeves, front slit pockets, decorative white silk pankou knot toggle closures down the front, is fully lined in a white silk fabric and has a "Golden Bee Made in China" label, Size Small tag sewn inside. The jacket measures 23 inches long, with a 36 inch chest, 19 inch long sleeve, 13 inch back and 14 inch neck. It is in good condition, with only some slight faint line discoloration on the back which barely noticeable. This is truly a wonderful piece of Chinese wearable art!
