Antique Akha Hill Tribe Handwoven Beaded Cowrie Shells Silver Coins Headdress Hat

This antique Akha Hill Tribe handwoven beaded cowrie shells, silver coins headdress hat dates from the early 1900s. It is hand sewn made of a dyed indigo blue, black hand loomed hemp fabric with a colorful patchwork of striped handwoven fabrics with hand embroidered decorative stitched details, hand sewn seeds, cowrie shells, silver stud metal disks, a Myanmar Burma lion silver squared coin and dyed pink chicken feather trim on the top. This wonderful women's traditional tribal Akha ethnic group Myanmar ceremonial headdress hat has a double seed beaded chin tie strap attached to the bottom, seed beaded looped tassel trim on the sides and is unlined. The hat measures 8 inches tall and is 23 inches inside circumference. It is in good condition with some wear, slight fade discoloration and a few loose missing beads (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of Akha Hill people tribal textile wearable hat art!
