Portico clock from the Napoleon III period (around 1860-1870), in blackened wood with four twisted columns framing a compensated pendulum movement. White enameled dial with Roman numerals, framed by a rich gilded bronze cartouche chiselled with floral and foliage motifs. Balance wheel decorated with a gilded bronze medallion decorated with cherubs and garlands.
Four twisted columns (barley twist style) with gilded Corinthian capitals, resting on a rectangular base with a gilded bronze frieze and claw feet. Movement signed/numbered 1531, anchor escapement, half-hour strike. Original key present.
