Today I have up for consideration a Beautiful Lenox Porcelain Round Candy - Nut Bowl. This piece 1-3/4" Tall, and 4-5/8" in Diameter. This piece has a Cream Background with Gold Trim. This piece features an Embossed Rose on the Front and the back of the Bowl. This pattern was Discontinued in 1987.

The History of Lenox

      Lenox China as it is known today was founded by Walter Scott Lenox & Jonathan Coxon Sr. as the "Ceramic Art Company" in 1889 in Trenton, New Jersey. Their intent was to form a fine China company to rival the best in Europe. Lenox China quickly became recognized as some of the highest quality China produced in the United States. In 1894, Walter Lenox purchased the entire company from Jonathan Scott Sr. & renamed the company Lenox, Inc. The Lenox Company was operated with an art studio type atmosphere, that had many talented designers & artisans. Lenox China received great publicity in 1917, when Walter Lenox was commissioned by President Woodrow Wilson to produce a 1,700-piece dinnerware service for the White House. Lenox China was also the choice of dinnerware for Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman & Ronald Reaan. Today Lenox is the only major producer of fine China in the United States & is known for the absolute uniformity of its glaze, its translucency, its perfectly applied design, its true & consistent color & its durability. Today Lenox China products are still handcrafted to the same high standard of perfection set by the company's founder in the 1800's. The Oxford plant with over 275 employees, is recognized as one of the best manufacturing facilities owned by Lenox, Inc.
