We were fortunate to acquire a collection of camera we will be listing over the next couple of weeks. Lots of interesting 35mm and other formats including some nice Leica and Canon rangefinders.

This camera is a nice Kiev 4A I believe. It is a Contax copy. The camera is quite clean, i would call it almost mint, like it was stored away and not used. The rangefinder seems to work well. The shutter seems to work well at all speeds to the naked ear. The shutter curtains look good. I’ve pictured them open and closed. The lens focuses well and the aperture ring is good. The iris blades are good. The lens is a 53mm Helios f:1.8 with the original lens cap. The glass is good with some minor dust and haze. There may be some minor separation at the outer edges of the glass but it seems to be a problem on all the Russian lenses out of this collection, please see the detailed pics. It is however a good clean working lens. I have not film tested the camera.

The tape on the leather case identifies the camera as a Kiev 4AM 53mm Helios-103 1983.

The leather case is a bit rough.

I’ve taken pics of the lens through three different light sources, a white background, a normal scene and a pinpoint light from a phone. Please see the detailed pics for a complete view of the condition of the glass. It’s a nice lens. Have a look at the others from this group please.

Please have a look at the detailed pictures for a complete condition report. Please feel free to ask any questions before you bid.
