This is a charming view of the city of Louisville, Kentucky issued by Appleton in 1872.

It features a view of the Ohio River from Indiana with bridge and the buildings of Louisville in background.

The foreground shows the riverbank and pier with fishermen and boats.

Paddle steamer in the river with train crossing the bridge above.

The view was drawn by Asa Coolidge Warren, and engraved by E. P. Brandard and ‘Entered according to Act of Congress A.D. 1872 by D. Appleton and Co. in the Office of the Librarian of Congress of Washington’.
