Satin turquoise to deep blue. Abstract designs all round.
Marked on the base with W. Germany and the correct period FOHR model numbers.
18 cm or 7 inches tall.
So a nice sized vase in a classic 60's shape..
Another classic FOHR, and it's amazing how a timeless design like this looks as good today as it did 60 years ago.
And it's probably one of the rarest of the FOHR vases in this stunning blue version.
These vases originally were made in a mould, and then glazed afterwards.
Note the inscribed lines, which are only found on these blue ones. You can see how the lines are inscribed with a knife, running diagonally and horizontally, and traveling up and down to the main body of the vase.
This is all done when the vase is still soft from being made.
It's then glazed in these glorious shades of turquoise to royal and indigo blue.
No two vases are exactly the same.
So a very time consuming process where, in the 60's, someone in the FOHR factory has sat down in a small corner and created these limited edition blue vases.
Presumably, although stunningly beautiful, the cost and time to produce them meant very limited production.
Just stunning..!
Its in good to even very good collector's condition.
Any white marks in the photos are reflection. All our vases can be filled with water and used for floral displays if desired..
