Offered at a buy-it-now or best offer is a rare, antique Huron Birch Bark Basket Box with moosehair embroidery. It's in a unique shape too.

These moosehair embroidered pieces are very hard to find in good condition these days. Not many Native people still do the moosehair embroidery, especially not with these feathery,  intricate floral designs, and the birch bark and moosehair become brittle with age. 

This box measures 4 3/4" by 4" by 2". 

Very good antique condition. Birch bark excellent. Moosehair embroidery is mostly intact. Just a few lifted or small areas where it has rubbed off. Yellowstone Park is written on edge of lid along with a penciled code on the bottom. Please see picture

*I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. Though I don't like styrofoam peanuts for environmental reasons, I have found they are the best at protecting fragile  items against damage during shipping. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages.
