‘It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.’ ~ Opening paragraph, Pride & Prejudice 1813

Costumes by Cloisters have created this beautiful Regency gown from quality taffeta in a stunning shade known as Cadbury Purple.
The bodice is self~lined & features delicately puffed sleeves that are edged with Purple & Gold ribbon & embroidered stitch detail. It fastens, to the back, with three complimentary dark bronze floral design buttons through actual button holes; not velcro that can bunch, traps hair & fluff, & is not historically accurate. Embroidered stitching edges the neckline & bodice panel to the side & back. The ‘skirt’ part of the gown falls softly to the feet & is generously gathered to the back. Embroidered stitching finishes the hemline, with a trim of Purple & Gold thread ribbon above. This opulent gown will turn heads as your walk & dance in it, the iridescent taffeta catches the light beautifully.
It is a U.K. size 14 (U.S. 12, E.U. 44) Actual measurements are as follows (please measure yourself accurately before purchasing):
