The U.S. Walking Liberty Half Dollar was minted from 1916 to 1947. It features a depiction of Lady Liberty walking towards the sun on the obverse (front), and an eagle on the reverse (back). The coin is made of 90% silver and 10% copper and has a diameter of approximately 30.6mm. It was designed by Adolph A. Weinman and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful American coins ever minted.
