Item: Genuine Early-Period Stamped Jugtown Ware Miniature Stoneware Jug

Provenance & Details:
Offered here is an authentic piece of historical North Carolina folk art pottery from the renowned Jugtown Ware workshop in Seagrove, NC. This 5.25-inch miniature utility jug is an excellent example of hand-thrown regional art pottery, displaying a beautiful, dark brown metallic iron slip glaze with distinct primitive character, micro-crystalline highlights, and prominent glaze pooling.

The base features the unmistakable, early circular incised Jugtown Ware stamp with the iconic central ovoid jug motif, fully legible and accurately preserved as shown in our high-magnification inventory documentation.

Condition Report:
Please review all reference photographs closely. The jug body, rim, and base are structurally sound with no cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Natively features typical primitive kiln artifacts (minor glaze pops, crawl spots, and pooling variations common to manual wood/oil firings).

CRITICAL CONDITION NOTE: There are distinct, prominent glaze chips/surface losses along the outer edge and base of the applied loop handle (exposing the lighter tan under-clay). These areas are fully audited in macro frames F78B13B7-3F8F-447B-9496-5F1447F1E89B_1_105_c.jpeg and B2245A4F-B3F1-4A0C-9645-342CF890CB0D_1_105_c.jpeg. The handle remains structurally secured to the vessel wall and stable for display.
