How It Works

1. Insert the floppy disk into the cleaning frame.
2. The built-in catch holds the metal shutter open.
3. Fit the supplied turning knob onto the disk hub.
4. Rotate the disk while gently cleaning the exposed media using a cotton bud, foam swab or lint-free cloth.
5. For best results, use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.

This allows both sides of the disk to be cleaned safely without disassembly.

Why Clean Floppy Disks?

Over time, dust, dirt and mould can accumulate on floppy media, potentially causing read errors, loading problems and data corruption.

While successful recovery cannot be guaranteed, cleaning can often improve readability and may help preserve valuable software, games and data that would otherwise be lost.
