Rare and highly collectible Victorian brass pen nib box, dating from the late 19th century (c.1880s). Beautifully designed in the form of a miniature Gladstone bag / suitcase, with engraved “Perry & Co London” on the front. Perry & Co were one of the most famous British makers of pen nibs and writing accessories, supplying schools, offices and writers across the world in the Victorian era. This little brass box would have been used to carry dip pen nibs – a charming and practical desk novelty of the period. The box opens and closes well. It retains its original patina and shows light wear consistent with age, which only adds to its authentic antique character. An excellent example of Victorian desk novelties and a must-have for collectors of Perry & Co, antique writing equipment, nib boxes, or unique figural brass items. 💡 A rare chance to acquire a genuine Perry & Co London nib box at an affordable price.
