Research done on this product leads me to believe that the "Mrs. Winslow" whose name is on this bottle, was Mrs. Charlotte N. Winslow, and it was her, Charlotte Winslow, that originally concocted this product. Sketchy research shows that it was possibly her son-in-laws, whose last names were Curtis and Perkins, that originally sold this concoction and are the proprietors named on many of the bottles. The original formula contained morphine or opium, no wonder that it effectively quieted restless infants and small children. Many babies overdosed on the product and died and others unknowingly became addicted to it. Note that the label does NOT mention OPIUM or MORPHINE. A nice example, check it out!
