Collection of antique iron cannonballs & grape shot, likely dating to the Civil war era. Solid iron projectiles were fired from cannons to damage ships or enemy fortifications. The smaller spheres are likely grape shot or canister shot, designed to act like giant shotgun ammunition against infantry.
Items like these are often found with natural pitting & iron patina from being buried many years.
Grape shot or canister shot (indistinguishable after firing) was used both on land and sea to decimate closely grouped enemies.
