I have refurbished a PC Engine Super CD-ROM² unit that was in excellent cosmetic condition.
The console underwent a thorough cleaning,
and the internal capacitors were replaced.
The power and AV terminals were replaced with new parts, and various points were re-soldered as necessary.
The CD pickup assembly was disassembled and re-greased.
Operation was verified using CD-Rs, game CDs, and music CDs.
However, please note that CD-Rs take longer to load, and the drive sometimes struggles when moving the laser from the innermost to the outermost tracks. For this reason, CD-R playback is excluded from the warranty.
Additionally, please be aware that not every game title in the PC Engine series has been tested.
