The internal wind-up mechanical music box works properly and plays when wound. The movement is visible through the rear plastic viewing window and appears to be a Japanese mechanism commonly sourced from Tokiwa during the mid-century era.

The colorful iridescent finish comes from intentional torch patina and oxidation created during the metalworking process, giving the sculpture a one-of-a-kind brutalist and studio art appearance.
