Exquisite 19th century Globe de Mariée, otherwise known as a bridal dome/cloche.
Newlyweds preserved their wedding crowns and bouquets under a glass cloche, creating a custom decorative shrine that celebrated their union.
This particular one is not attached to the wood base and fits in there just so. It can be easily removed if you want to put something else in there. The velvet cushion does have some loss, especially to the backside but otherwise in decent antique shape. The glass has one itty bitty teeny tiny “chip” sliver that is barely noticeable. Just wanted to make you aware.
