Placement and Functionality of the Steering Rack

Steering Rack Installation Procedure

1.Safely raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the front wheels.

2.Disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles.

3.Remove the mounting bolts and brackets that hold the steering rack.

4.Disconnect the power steering hoses or electrical connectors.

5.Carefully take out the old steering rack.

6.Install the new steering rack in the original position and torque all bolts to specifications.

7.Reconnect the steering shaft, hoses, and tie rod ends.

8.Reinstall the wheels, lower the vehicle, and perform a wheel alignment.

9.Bleed the power steering system and test for smooth operation and leaks.
