1909-1910 W555 (Jay S. Meyer confectioners and/or Base Ball Snap Shots candy) REPRINTS by private collector

SEVENTEEN (17) DIFFERENT W555 Cards ~ W555 is the American Card Catalog Number for this scarce issue*

~ COLLECTOR  REPRINTS ~

Privately published REPRINTS by a collector

Recently we acquired a collection of REPRINTS by a private collector. These are not collector issues of the 1970s. We would guess they are much later - likely within the last 10-15 years - likely made for the collector's own enjoyment.

General card size: A TINY 1-3/8 by 1-3/8 inches but there is some size variance among the 17 cards.

Each card was privately reprinted by a collector and is printed on medium white card stock.

Use these as space fillers in your collection until better examples present themselves.

*According to the Standard Catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards: "A recent discovery indicates [original W555] cards were produced by Jay S. Meyer confectioners of Philly ... also indicate the cards were issued four-per-box of Base Ball Snap Shots candy."

The 17 cards include:

Leon "Red" Ames ~ Jimmy Austin ~ Hal Chase ~ Art Devlin ~ Josh Devore ~ Bull Durham ~ Charlie Hemphill ~ WEE WILLIE KEELER ~ Red Kleinow ~ CHRISTY MATHEWSON ~ JOHN McGRAW ~ Chief Meyers ~ Red Murray ~ Jim Pastorius ~ Fred Snodgrass ~ James "Hippo" Vaughn ~ Hooks Wiltse

HALL OF FAME members are denoted in ALL CAPITAL LETTERING

Condition: Very Good or better - see the high-resolution scans; these are the actual cards the buyer will receive.

THE LAST SCAN: Our last scan is a picture of all-time baseball great Ted Williams with The Baseball Hobbyist's Steve Mitchell at a 1983 Connecticut sports collectors gathering - Ted's very first-ever collector event. On the second day of the show "The Splendid Splinter" visited with collectors and dealers and graciously posed for this photo. Important: Shipping Information

Our goal has always been to keep shipping costs low. Our objective is to sell cards and other things of interest to baseball hobbyists - not make money by overcharging on shipping.

  • U.S. residents: We combine multiple items purchased so you pay only the shipping on the heaviest item - all other items ship free of charge. (An exception would be if an item must be sent via media/book rate.)
  • All Other Countries: Email us first.
  • To receive your combined shipping, please wait for us to send you a combined invoice. The eBay checkout system usually displays an incorrect shipping charge. (It is normally too high.) Please do not pay for each item separately; if you pay separately, there is no shipping discount.
  • We pack your order carefully - sandwiching cards between cardboard and utilizing boxes, bubble wrap, etc., as necessary - to ensure your items arrive in the condition you expect.
  • Items are shipped the next business day after we receive your payment. We ship 5 - sometimes 6 - days each week.

Payment must be made within 10 days after notification of  purchase. WD-1
