Manufactured to their 'Prince's Plate' standard it has a ''triple deposit" of silver on top of nickel silver. It feels significantly heavier than most silver plated items of the time. This piece was manufactured in the late 19th/early 20th century and has been in my wife's family over that time. 

Mappin and Webb began in the 18th century and the company has held royal warrants since the late 19th century - one of the most famous names in British silver. This 1/2 pint tankard was part of their range of affordable and durable pieces. 

It stands at 9.5cm high, 6cm wide at the base, extending to 11cm with the handle.

Apart from the tarnishing consistent with a piece of the age, this tankard remains in very good condition. There are no dents or nicks visible to the eye. A quality piece to this day.
