This is a viintage Jos. W. Jones mechanical panel mount tachometer. I believe this is the same tachometer that was used in the Spirit Of Saint Louis plane as well as many other vintage aircrafts and other vehicles. This is the very hard to find panel mount tach with 4 ears. Don't confuse this with the common hand drive tach used by mechanics. This is the real deal.
This tach is in good original cosmetic condition as shown. The dial is chrisp, clean, and easy to read. The lens is real glass and free of cracks and fogginess. The case is in good shape with all 4 mounting ears intact and some paint loss as expected. This tach has been tested does respond to input but only for a few hundred RPM. I imagine is needs servicing/lubrication which is expected of a mechanical gauge of this age. Don't miss this very hard to find vintage tachometer.
