Vintage Elgin American Beauty LEAPING GAZELLES goldtone compact carryall. Made in the USA, maybe in the 1940s to the 1950s.

It looks like it was only stored or used as a display.  Inside has a mirror, powder compact, lipstick holder case, bill clip, a utility compartment that has a music box (does not work), and area behind the mirror that was made for a cigarette storage.

It is about 4.25 inches in length and about 2.5 inches in height and about 1.25 inches in depth. The lipstick case has no residue, and the powder puff is clean - it is coming apart. The original glue has come undone. See photos

There are some scratches and wear to the outside surface. No dents that i noticed. The inside mirror has some age or darking spots along the edges and some scratches to the surface. The press clasp is easy to open. It does not close when you press close. You have to press the clasp to close. I'm not sure if it was made that way.
