Antique Sterling Silver Mounted Briar Pipe – Black Watch Royal Highlanders – Named Presentation

A genuine antique briar pipe with sterling silver mounts, engraved:

“Presented to Private G Thomson 5th V.B.R.H Black Watch”

This is a named military presentation piece relating to the renowned Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) regiment, making it of interest to both pipe collectors and militaria enthusiasts.

Notably, this pipe was purchased in Perth, Scotland – historically the home of the Black Watch regiment – adding a strong and relevant provenance link to the piece.

I purchased it together with one other pipe which is assumed to be the same gentleman’s. So if you want that then let me know.

The pipe features a traditional briar bowl with decorative engraved sterling silver mounts and a curved stem (appears to be early plastic/bakelite type). The inscription is clear and readable.
