This is a rarely seen original old map issued by the famous cartographer Airey, from the 1898 series ,it was part of a series of victorian railway reference maps that were the fore runners of the Railway Clearing House junction system maps which took over his business in1895 . The area covers that around the towns and villages as in the title with many stations - Junctions and a host of other features .It involves all of the different old 19thC railway companies as per the second photo , with stations both goods & passenger with destinations plus milage figures and much more Most interesting old reference work . This is not a reprint but an original working map of 128 years of age SPECIAL NOTE of special interest - the multitude of the docks lines of Cardiff with the Glamorganshire canal & Penarth dock & the river Taff
