Vintage Middle Eastern Arabic / Robe bought in 1963 - 1964

Went to Jordon , next to Jerusalem , which is were I lived

But my mother went to Egypt , I did not

So am not sure which country , my guess Jordon

All black cotton/linen , with applied needlepoint and other fabric on it

Bought in market bazaar

Geometric and all straight lines in original design 

Men and Women wore it in the desert regions of middle east

The stitching is primitive , but the needlepoint shows skill

Originally a dress , had it professionally altered ( that cost me $500 )

Down the center of the front of the dress

So it would be easier to use this as a robe  

The way they made them so they are billowing out ,

on sides and to the bottom of the robe/dress ( 5 feet wide at bottom )

Size :  5 feet in height aprox

Sleeve length : 28" aprox

Belt : 90"  x  3"  aprox

Weight :  4 lbs 3 oz
