A Very Nice Indian Head Cent

 

This listing is for a Beautiful above average Circulated Indian head penny. This 1907 Indian Head is a small cent that features the copper variety with a business strike. Minted in Philadelphia. The coin showcases nice detail, making it a desirable addition for collectors of US coins from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This coin comes from a private collection and was found in an old-style Blue Whitman album.

 

 

Perfect for those interested in the Indian Head series of coins, this piece offers a glimpse into the historical significance of small denomination currency in the United States. Indian Head Pennies are among the most collected U.S. coins and have a proven long-term value, making them a terrific collectible and good investment. The coin has its own patina and doesn’t appear to have been cleaned but that is always a possibility. We believe the overall grade of this coin is VF.

 

 

The Indian Head Penny was minted between 1859 and 1909. The obverse side of the Penny is said to depict Lady Liberty wearing a traditional Native American headdress. The reverse side of the Indian Head Penny is quite basic and features a wreath surrounding the one cent face value with a presidential seal at the top of the coin. These coins are composed of 95% Copper and are over 100 years old. They represent a bygone era, minted with precision and cherished by everyone.
