A rare and complete example of one of the most celebrated soft focus portrait lenses ever produced — the Rodenstock Tiefenbildner Imagon 360mm f/5.8, Made in West Germany. The Imagon ("depth painter") creates its signature effect by overlaying a sharp image core with controlled diffusion, producing luminous, glowing portrait rendition unlike any other lens. The 360mm focal length covers 8x10 format. This set is substantially complete, including the lens in barrel mounted on a Sinar lensboard, three variable diffusion discs (H=7.7, H=9.5, H=11.5 — each with adjustable opening holes to vary the degree of softness), a Rodenstock 2x orange ND filter, an extension tube, and the original Rodenstock presentation box with Rodenstock label in the lid. A serious portrait photographer's tool and a prized collector's piece.

Used condition. Glass clean with no fungus or scratches noted. Box included. Normal handling wear to exterior. These lenses were all owned by a professional portrait photographer. They all have some dust from sitting for some time, but everything was stored in a climate controlled environment
