While Napoleon's team did create the first modern map of the Suez Canal area by rediscovering an ancient canal during the Egyptian campaign, it's important to note that the idea of connecting the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea through a canal predates Napoleon, with evidence suggesting ancient Egyptian Pharaohs like Senusret III first conceived of the concept, therefore we can think of Napoleon's map of the first map of the Suez Canal as the first map widely seen by the western world for this ancient canal route.
In great condition for the age of this map. There is some soiling and dirtiness as well as some tearing along the edges. Please see images.
