Very good French violin made 1950 by Jenny Bailly , labeled and signed inside on back (see photo). Rampal's certificate.
Jenny Bailly was an accomplished 20th-century French luthier. She is one of the few recorded female violin makers of that time period, producing violins with a great tonal characteristics and projection. Jenny was the daughter of renowned luthier Paul Joseph Bailly (1844–1907), who studied under experts such as Jules Gaillard and Nicolas Vuillaume. Jenny worked closely with her father throughout his life and took over the Paris workshop in 1907, after his death.
In a very good state of preservation - no repairs, just some signs of regular professional use (see photos). Very good sound and projection, ready to play. Good tone woods used, great workmanship. Fantastic instrument, soloist type.
