Vintage George Lawrence Leather Firearm Case Talon Zipper Portland OR
Original George Lawrence Co. leather firearm case, marked Portland, Oregon, with Talon brass zipper. Based on the embossed leather label style, construction, and use of a Talon zipper with heavy brass teeth, this piece most likely dates to the 1950s to early 1960s. The clean script logo stamp and construction details are consistent with mid-century George Lawrence production.
Measurements (approximate):
12 3/4 in x 6 5/8 in x 2 1/4 in
Exterior is genuine leather with a warm saddle tan tone that has developed a rich patina over time. The leather shows honest age and use throughout, including surface scuffs, darkened areas, small marks, and general handling wear. Corners show rubbing and edge wear with some darkening along the piping. There is visible dryness and light cracking along the side panels near the zipper track, particularly on one end where the leather shows surface checking and stiffness from age.
The zipper is a brass Talon zipper and appears original. Teeth show oxidation and age but remain intact. Zipper pull is marked TALON and functions based on inspection. Canvas zipper tape shows age toning.
Interior is lined with a soft gray faux fur or synthetic shearling-type material over what appears to be a vinyl or coated underlay backing. Lining is generally clean with light flattening from storage and use. No major tears noted in the lining. Interior leather label reads George Lawrence Co Portland Oregon and remains legible.
Structure remains solid with tight stitching throughout. No major seam separations observed. This case shows authentic vintage wear consistent with decades of storage and light field use.
A classic mid-century American leather firearm case from a respected Portland maker, ideal for collectors of sporting goods, western gear, or vintage firearm accessories. Please review all photos carefully for full condition details.
