Legend in three lines within inner circle; dotted circles in the outer margin. Early epigraphic format characteristic of Damascus reform bronzes.

“In the name of Allah, the fals was struck in Damascus.”

Description:
Scarce anonymous Umayyad bronze fals struck at Dimashq. This variety corresponds to Album 174 and differs from related Damascus issues by omitting “hadha” before al-fals in the marginal inscription — a subtle but important typological distinction noted in early Syrian bronze classifications.
At 22 mm and 4.92 g, this is a broad and heavy example compared to many later Umayyad fulus. The coin shows clear legends and strong circular framing with well-defined dotted borders. Damascus was the Umayyad capital, and its bronze coinage remains one of the most studied provincial series of the early Islamic period.
Authenticity:
Correct early Islamic bronze fabric, strike, calligraphy, and marginal format consistent with Album 174 and comparable Bone specimens. Natural patina with no signs of modern tooling. Fully guaranteed authentic.
Condition:
Good Very Fine with sharp legends and beautiful natural patina. Broad flan with excellent presence for the type.
