Description:
Early Abbasid copper coinage often recorded the names of provincial governors responsible for local administration. This issue was struck at Khizanat Halab (the treasury mint of Aleppo) during the early Abbasid period under the authority of the governor Salih bin ʿAli, a prominent Abbasid family member who governed Syria after the Abbasid revolution. Coins from this mint are scarce and historically significant, reflecting the early administrative structure of the Abbasid state in the Levant.
Condition:
Authentic early Islamic bronze coin with partial legends visible and typical early copper corrosion.
