Description

Here is a nice rare 18th century circa 1790 in date naval boarding axe in superb original condition. The polished iron surface has dark areas from age with a good maker's mark which can be seen in the photos. The neck area has iron straps with the original long wooden handle with a shaped end which can also be seen in the photos. In total measuring 26.5 inches long and the head measures 10.4 inches wide with a 5.4 inch curved blade. Originally from Leith harbour, Edinburgh, Scotland from a gentleman's naval collection.
