Large Japanese Carved Bamboo Brush Pot / Bitong – Samurai Relief – 40cm

A substantial and decorative Japanese carved bamboo brush pot, standing approximately 40cm tall.

Beautifully carved in high relief with a detailed samurai warrior in traditional armour, set against a textured ground. The carving shows excellent depth and strong definition, with finely incised cross-hatching and patterned detailing to the armour and clothing. The upper section features carved fan and textured motifs beneath a simple banded rim.

Formed from a thick section of bamboo and hollowed internally. The scale is impressive at 40cm (see tape measure in photographs), making this a striking display piece.
