2 St Pauls Cathedral Jacquard Tapestries The Lady & Unicorn 15th Century Design By Traditional Tapestries. These Traditional Tapestries wall plaques are titled "Sense of Hearing" and “Cluny Orange Tree”, scenes extracted/inspired by the famous 15th-century Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, and woven in Cornwall, England using jacquard techniques. the Lady and The Unicorn tapestries feature touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight. The Lady and the Unicorn wall-hanging was acquired in 1882. It is now considered one of the great masterpieces of Western art, and the originals hang in the MUSÉE de Cluny in Paris.
The first wall plaque depicts the Lady playing a medieval pipe organ with a millefleur floral background, and the second one is a beautiful orange tree full of fruit, also with a millefleur floral background.
