• Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa

• Temperament: Semi-aggressive

Appearance

• Body color ranges from light blue to turquoise.

• Yellow dorsal and tail fins are common, especially in males.

• Females are usually duller with less yellow.

• Water temperature: 76–82°F

• pH: 7.8–8.6 (alkaline water)

• Aquascape: Lots of rocks and caves since they are rock-dwelling mbuna.

• Diet: Omnivore but prefers vegetable-based foods (spirulina, algae wafers)
