Presenting the USS Helena (1:300 scale) — a ship with a distinctive silhouette and significant service history in WWII.

Designed with physical bricks based on scaled historic blueprints, USS Helena is a display model that can fit neatly on a shelf in one of two configurations - either on an embellished stand showing the belly of this incredible ship, or as a waterline model. Battle‑ready with traversable gun turrets and a Curtiss SOC scout plane, Helena is prepared for her next campaign on your desk.

The USS Helena is a Brooklyn class light cruiser built for the US Navy in the 1930s designated CL-50. She sports 15 x 6-inch/47 caliber Mk.16 guns, which were capable of firing up to 150 rounds per minute, and a numerous secondary and Anti-Aircraft weapons, able to swat away air threats. 

In her lifetime, Helena served in peacetime training up until Pearl Harbor where she was torpedoed. Too hardy to be sunk, she was repaired and modernised in 1942 - which is the configuration this model is based on.

Helena's rapid fire capabilities were also key in overwhelming the Japanese task force in the South Pacific a year later, until she was finally sunk by torpedoes at the Battle of Kula Golf on 6 July 1943.
