Overview:
Post-reform Umayyad bronze fals featuring a stylized tree or plant stalk in the central field on both sides. Around the obverse appears the declaration: “La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu” (“There is no god but Allah alone”), and around the reverse: “Muhammad rasul Allah” (“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”).
The tree motif is a distinctive provincial symbol associated with issues attributed to Filastin / al-Urdunn and represents one of the more visually recognizable figural elements within Umayyad copper coinage. These types are scarcer than the standard fully epigraphic post-reform fals series.
Authenticity Check:
Correct compact 15 mm flan and weight consistent with documented Album A161 examples. Tree motif and circular legend layout match SICA references. Fabric and strike characteristics consistent with late 7th–early 8th century Umayyad bronze production.
Rarity:
Rare provincial figural type within Umayyad copper coinage.
Condition:
Very Fine. Clear tree devices and readable legends; attractive surfaces for the type.
