Description:
This coin belongs to the early Islamic copper coinage struck in Jerusalem during the transitional period between the late Umayyad and early Abbasid administrations. Unlike later fully struck copper issues, certain early provincial fals were produced using casting techniques that reflect continuity with earlier local minting traditions. The broad flan, soft devices, and heavy fabric are characteristic of this early phase. These coins circulated as small fiduciary change and represent an important stage in the evolution of Islamic monetary reform following the late 7th century.

Jerusalem mint issues from this early period are highly collectible and historically significant as part of the first generations of fully Islamic epigraphic coinage.

Condition:
Very Fine for type. Bold central inscription with natural earthen patina. Typical casting softness and edge irregularities consistent with early manufacture. Authentic early Islamic bronze, guaranteed genuine.
