This stunning vintage postcard features the magnificent Hooker Emerald, a superb 75.47-carat emerald displayed at the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution. The gem is cut in an elegant beveled square measuring 27mm (1.06 in.) on each edge. This remarkable stone was once part of a belt buckle worn by Sultan Abdul Hamid II of the Ottoman Empire. The emerald exhibits exceptional color and is remarkably free from flaws and inclusions for a gem of its size.
