Rare natural honeycomb pattern black opal cabochon originating from Ethiopia. This weighs 8.55 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 16.8 x 12.5 x 8.1 mm.

The stone has a fascinating honeycomb pattern over the majority of it's surface. This type of pattern is considered rare and is highly sought after by collectors. The piece itself has strong optical effects, displaying bright opalescent flashes of pink, purple, green and blue, with some hints of orange as well. As with all opals, the colors are most intense when viewed under a light source, either artificial or sunlight

This is a natural gemstone and has smoke in treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations. This is not a doublet or filled product, this is solid earth mined stone. We have detected no signs of damage or chips and is in mint condition.
