Overview:
Rare Umayyad bronze fals struck at ar-Ruhā in 116 AH. The obverse bears the extended creed (long version of the Kalima) with reference to the prophetic mission in the surrounding legend. The reverse features Surat al-Ikhlās in the central field, with the mint name and date in the marginal inscription.

Ar-Ruhā (ancient Edessa) was an important frontier city in Upper Mesopotamia during the Umayyad period. Dated provincial issues from this mint are considerably scarcer than those of the major Syrian centers and are actively sought by collectors of early Islamic bronze.

The inclusion of the long creed and full Ikhlās formula makes this a strong example of mature Umayyad epigraphic coinage in the mid-8th century.

Authenticity Check:
Natural dark patina consistent with early Islamic bronze. Correct provincial Umayyad flan fabric and Kufic epigraphy. No signs of casting or modern tooling.
