Up for your consideration is a beautiful, factory-sealed original 1978 US pressing of The Rolling Stones' masterpiece, Some Girls (Rolling Stones Records COC 39106). This copy features the original round white hype sticker stating "Contains single MISS YOU."
Collectors often ask how an album can be both an "Original 1978 Pressing" and a "Second Edition."

The release of Some Girls in 1978 triggered one of the most famous legal battles in album art history. The original "Version 1" design featured the likenesses of several major celebrities (including Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, and Raquel Welch) without their permission. Facing immediate legal threats, the label scrambled to pull the albums. This copy is the official "Second Version" (Censored), where the celebrity faces were removed and replaced with the "Pardon our appearance" layout. Finding a copy still factory sealed with the original "Miss You" hype sticker is the only way to guarantee you are getting an authentic, first-year pressing from the height of this rock-and-roll controversy.
- The Original Release (June 1978): The very first batch hit the stores with celebrity faces (Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, etc.) on the inner sleeve.
- The "Legal Threat" (July/August 1978): Within just weeks, the lawyers for those celebrities threatened to sue. The Stones' label had to react immediately.
- The Second Edition (Still 1978): They didn't stop production or change the catalog number; they just stripped the colors/faces off the inner sleeve or replaced them with "Censored" text.

Because I am a collector myself, I don't just "look" at records — I play test them (when they aren't sealed!). This album IS STILL FACTORY SEALED and in pristine condition with no issues. The jacket is crisp with sharp corners and the shrink wrap is tight. It has been stored vertically in a smoke-free, temperature-controlled environment for nearly 30 years. The jacket has also been placed in an acid free outer sleeve to be used once it's opened. FYI, ALL THE PICTURES HEREIN are of the actual items.

Despite USPS claims of 3-9 day delivery times, MEDIA MAIL CAN actually TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS to arrive, and their tracking info is frequently not updated until it actually arrives, making that feature pretty useless! PLEASE remember this when you leave feedback scores as the choice is yours and not my fault if it takes a long time to get there! If you want it in a week or less, you are going to have to bite the bullet and pay for Priority Mail which will get it there in 2-3 working days, 99% of the time, but it is more expensive. Basically, the choice is yours, but if you choose media mail, please don't write to me in 5 days asking where your package is, because the post office will have it and most of the time, they don't have a clue!
