EDWARDIAN NET LACE TRAINED EVENING GOWN, WITH LACE INSERTS, 1907
A stunning Edwardian 2 piece net with floral lace trim inserts and a slight trained evening gown. The bodice forms a point center front on waist, short very full sleeves, decorative twists of netting on front and sleeves, neckline gathers with ribbon, pouchy front, hook closure in back. Decorative lace trim on its puffed sleeve bodice front and back. On the back of the bodice are hooks to hold back of skirt up. The bodice is unlined.
The long skirt has a slight train. The skirt closes by hooks and eyes at the back. The skirt is unlined. Label on skirt reads: Carson’s, Rochester, N.Y.
Still retains its museum paperwork description and association was Alice Motley Woodbury, founder of the Strong Museum.
CONDITION:
The outfit is in fair/good condition. No repairs and no stains. The bodice has no underarm discoloration with small rips on seam. Lining has shattered totally letting loose of some seams around neckline. The skirt is in good condition. No holes in netted skirt, no stains with no lining that was taken out because it was totally shattered.
